We are very fussy about our blackcurrants: 70% of the berries we use are grown in the New Forest (more than half in our own garden). The rest come from an organic farm in Kent we know and trust.
Blackcurrants are picked, washed and prepared by hand before being slow-cooked in copper pans in the traditional way, in the heart of the New Forest. The slow cooking releases intense, aromatic juices as the berries gently pop and burst. Sugar is added by hand, gently, in phases and dissolved slowly. The aromas are so intense that our neighbours get excited!
This jam is the winner of the coveted three-star Great Taste Award and a world jam championship.
Adventurous chefs might even add it to barbecue sauce, meats or meatballs...
