Jennifer Williams' foraging for cocktails - a tipsy nature trail
This is a fun day out - ideal for a group of friends who enjoy nature, walking and the odd tipple together. You'll need a designated driver or a taxi though... (let us know if you'd like us to arrange pick up and collection from the nearby station).
What is it
Initially, we will meet in the forest where we will collect herbs and make a refreshing tea which we will drink while enjoying canapes made with foraged ingredients. You'll get some insight into the history of the New Forest as well as some of what the Forest has to offer in terms of wildlife, history, and medicinal and edible: Plants, Fungi, Berries, and Seeds next, we will be foraging in the wild for ingredients to make cocktail syrups and then back to our intimate cooking school at Jam HQ for a light, natural and satisfying buffet lunch. Here you will also digest a little about the history of cocktails washed down with some fun cocktail facts. Jennifer will then demonstrate the art of cocktail making and how to blend ingredients to achieve a perfect balance. Naturally, you'll be making and tasting cocktails (which is why we insist nobody drives afterwards). You'll taste some unique spirits and liquors but you can also sample: Hot tea and coffee New Forest spring water. Foraged teas. Hedgerow cake. Seaweed cookies. You'll leave with your eyes opened to new possibilities as well as: A selection of cocktail syrups. Some interesting cocktail recipes to share with your friends. A branded apron. The memory of a unique, fun-filled, educational (and potentially slightly tipsy) day. Itinerary Meet at 12 Noon in the New Forest (Meeting place confirmed on booking) (Snacks and refreshments served in the forest) Lunch at 1.30 PM (Home grown and foraged salad, Koffman potatoes with Jen's legendary quiches and condiments) Finish at 4 pm (Ask us to book you a taxi or arrange your transport if required)
