This beautiful and colourful marmalade is full of surprises! It's perfect for weekend breakfast, when you have time to sit and savour the two flavours doing the tango on your tongue while you contemplate the day ahead.
Our chillies are home-grown, pickled and matured for 12 months before they spend 48 hours becoming intimate with the sliced Mexican limes we hand-picked from the market.
This zesty marmalade masterpiece is slow-cooked in copper pans with sugar we pre-heated on a tray. This makes for a clearer jelly, allowing you to see the brilliant red chilli and green lime pieces swimming in the jam - it's a visual treat and the aroma is wonderful.
Like its cousin the lime marmalade, it lends itself to dinner dishes... and is particularly lovely with sourdough toast in the morning.
The adventurous might try lime and chilli marmalade:
- With sourdough toast and strong cheddar cheese.
- As a marinade for fish, chicken and pork.
- In a Thai stir-fry to add zing, sweetness and flavour.
